National Museum Jos

Also called Jos Museum, Jos Museum and Zoo

Nok terracotta, a 1921 locomotive, and the zoological garden that has been running since 1956 — all on one site.

The museum is the intellectual centre of the city's tourism offer and the reason Jos has a claim on Nigerian archaeology. The zoological garden on the same grounds dates to 1956.

Among the exhibits is the locomotive engine known as Dan Zaria, built in 1921 for the Nigerian Railway, alongside vehicles presented to Nigeria around independence.

Give yourself longer than you think. The collection rewards a slow walk, and the grounds connect to the 100 Steps.
