Jos Wildlife Park
Eight square kilometres of conserved bush on the Miango road, and the closest thing Jos has to a full day out in the wild.
Established in 1972, the park covers roughly eight square kilometres about five kilometres out of the city along the Jos–Miango road. It is one of the largest parks of its kind in Nigeria and remains the single attraction most first-time visitors are pointed towards.
Go early. The animals are active in the cool of the morning, the light is better for photographs, and you avoid the afternoon crowd on weekends and public holidays.
The park has been named repeatedly in state plans for upgrade and investment. Expect some areas to be in varying condition depending on when you visit.

- Roughly fifteen minutes from the city centre on the Miango road. Keke will run you to the gate; agree the fare before you set off.
