Pandam Wildlife Park

224 square kilometres of savanna, marsh and forest in the south of the state. Hippo and birdlife on Pandam Lake.

Designated in 1972, Pandam is one of the larger game reserves in Nigeria: 224 square kilometres of undeveloped savanna, wetland and forest supporting antelope, duiker, warthog and monkey.

Pandam Lake holds hippopotamus and, reportedly, the endangered African manatee. For birders it is the strongest site in the state.

This is a serious drive south from Jos and an overnight, not a day trip. Plan transport and accommodation before committing.
