Kurra Falls

A colonial-era hydro site near Vom. The plant is long past its working life; the setting is the reason to come.

Kurra Falls grew up around one of Nigeria's early hydroelectric schemes. The original plant no longer operates at capacity, but the water, the reservoir and the surrounding country remain.

It suits a picnic and a short walk more than a full day. The landscape around the site is open and good for photographs.

Confirm the current access arrangements locally before travelling — this record needs a site visit.
